Why plant Date Palms in the Oases of Tafilalt?

How to Get Involved in Anouar Al Ard?
Join a spiritual and ecological retreat
From November 14th to 16th, 2025. In the region of Errachidia,
with the presence of Ozéra Imane, Karina Ladet, and Prof. Zoubida Charrouf.
Participation fee: 2500 MAD
Commitment: Sponsor the planting of at least 10 palm trees — 3000 MAD / 300€ to be paid directly to Association Ibn Al Baytar
Fund only the planting of palm trees

Planting takes place annually between September and November.

Ozéra Imane & the Ibn Al Baytar Association will guide you
Since 2018, Ozéra Imane has been guiding her community through spiritual and energetic practices. Committed to the planet, she plants trees at every training and event (400 trees in 2024), in partnership with the Ibn Al Baytar Association, chaired by her mother. Together, they unite spirituality, ecological action, and social impact for a sustainable Morocco.

1/ Who can join this movement?
The program is open to everyone — women, men, and children. Who wish to act for the Earth and have a meaningful experience of reconnection with nature and self.
2/ Can I contribute if I cannot attend in person?
Yes! You can participate by funding palm tree planting, supporting local date production and the autonomy of partner cooperatives.
3/ Where will the retreat take place?
The retreat will be held in the Errachidia region, at the heart of the Tafilalt oases, in collaboration with local cooperatives and communities.
4/ What are the participation conditions and fees?
The contribution depends on your level of engagement: either join the retreat (Nov 14–16, 2025) with palm tree planting, or contribute only to the plantation.
Participation in the Retreat:
You pay directly for logistics (accommodation, transport, meals). Estimated cost: 2,500 MAD, all included.
Additionally, your contribution is to plant 10 palm trees (3,000 MAD / 300€) paid directly to the Ibn Al Baytar Association. You’ll receive a certificate of plantation.

Ibn Al Baytar NGO
Since 2014, the Ibn Al Baytar NGO has been working in the oases of Alnif (Errachidia Province) to preserve and regenerate oasis ecosystems, in partnership with the Yves Rocher Foundation and Reforest’Action.
The association has already planted over 10,000 date palms and 5,000 olive trees, and restored nearly 30 hectares of farmland, contributing to the fight against desertification and strengthening the resilience of local communities.
Since 2023, in collaboration with the UNDP, Ibn Al Baytar has been implementing the project “Promotion of Green and Inclusive Jobs in the Oases of Tafilalet”, alongside the Ministry of Energy Transition and the Global Environment Facility (GEF/SGP).
This program has restored an additional 20 hectares of land, created two women’s cooperatives and one economic interest group (EIG), trained over 300 farmers and cooperative members, and supported ONSSA certification for three local products. The association has also contributed to the restoration of traditional khettaras (ancient irrigation systems) and improved access to drinking water in Alnif. Furthermore.
The association supports the integration of cooperatives into the Ibn Al Baytar Network of Responsible Consumers and facilitates their participation in regional and national fairs, strengthening their economic autonomy and visibility.
